    Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Communications Act are in place to ensure consistency and increase accessibility to information for people with disabilities. 

    These checklists have been created using federal sources and agency style in an effort to be as thorough, concise, and yet basic as possible. SCDE staff should use them and review ALL documents created for the South Carolina Department of Education in order to meet Accessibility Policy 301.3.
